Cole Gerst, a.k.a. option-g, is an LA-based artist, designer, illustrator and animator. Like many multi-disciplined creatives, Cole finds inspiration in his rich life experience and passions. Born and raised in Albany, GA, it's no surprise that much of his art reflects his love for nature--be it on a band poster for The Shins, one of his clever T-shirts, or any other of Cole's numerous outlets.
Apart from the fact that we are design, music, and graphic T-shirt junkies, one of the reasons we've been long-time fans of Cole's work is that he provides the comic relief to otherwise serious subject matters.
While very few would ever consider him to be an eco-artist, the environment is certainly a theme present in many of his recent works. To be completely honest, we didn't realize how much it was a part of his work until we saw his cartoon "Yung Yeti" and asked him to send us more ecopop references.
We like Cole even more now. So much, in fact, we've asked him to design your very own idea for an ecopop T-shirt. May the best idea win the original artwork signed by Cole Gerst himself.
