The most religious of these experiences was undoubtedly the reading of Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things by architect William McDonough and chemist Michael Braungart.
Despite anything your pretty little head might think, read it. In fact, if you read only one book this year, read this one. As both an average consumer and a general maker of things, we cannot think of any other book that should be required reading for everyone. Of course, only Oprah has the power to enforce that. And if she does, chances are, every book in the world would be made with the same revolutionary, waterproof material as the one you're going to buy here is.
