As we've reported in previous articles, segregation is alive and well in the media. Environmentally and socially responsible issues have been given increasingly more prominence in the news media but typically as a special section, column, or edition hidden amongst other important issues–not the front page.
Having just arrived in Portland, one of our first pleasant discoveries was an issue of The Oregonian newspaper placed at a coffee shop register for all to see. Right there, on the front page, as large as the paper was folder in half, was an article about one of many relevant green issues that Oregonians obviously find important.
Not only does Oregon "get it", but perhaps you can to. If you care about environmental issues more than your city's newspaper does and want to learn from the home of America's Greenest City, subscribe to the Oregonian or sign up for their RSS feed here.
In the meantime, care to share with the rest of the world where you get your green news?
