The Green Movement has been around for ages. However, despite the fact that it is growing and becoming more mainstream, the soundtrack is sadly lacking diversity and merely perpetuates the perception that only crunchy hippie-types give a shit. Artists across all genres have been making music that is perfectly suited for positive change, yet whoever has been in charge of the music thinks that folk, world, and trance music is the best way to get any party started. Well, for the other 99% of us not attending Burning Man this year, it’s not. Everyone knows that there’s no quicker way to clear a dance floor than by poor music choice. The same could be said about the potential success of a movie, commercial or event.

After hearing Melissa Etheridge in An Inconvenient Truth, the audiophiles at ecopop.com were finally inspired (or was it fed up?) to scour our music collection and bring you an alternative soundtrack. We’re not saying it’s better than what’s out there, but we’re typing it. So there. We recommend you find some comfortable toe-tapping shoes, like the ones we rave about here, because this party is just getting started. Until next month, when we bring you some more of our favorite ecopop tunes, feel free to share those in your collection for possible inclusion in our upcoming post.
